Make a quiet retreat to this appealing Lakeland cottage, set within the grounds of a guesthouse but enjoying its privacy. Up to two guests, and two dogs, are welcome to stay at the one-bedroom holiday home at Dubwath, by Lake Bassenthwaite. Amble down to the water to spot cormorants and herons. Go for walks in Dodd Woods on the other side of the lake, 5 miles away, or head to Whinlatter Forest Park, 7 miles from the cottage. Climb 930m-high Skiddaw, about 8 miles away, then head into Keswick, 7.5 miles from your holiday home, for a cup of tea afterwards. Find colourful, independent shops and a good choice of eateries both here and in Cockermouth, 6 miles away.
Arrive at the two-storey cottage and enter to find your accommodation, with a fresh, airy ambience. Discover the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling and light pouring down from a skylight window. Relax in here together after days out exploring your surroundings. Find your favourite programme on the TV or watch a film on the DVD player. Enjoy cooking together in the kitchen, which has an electric oven, gas hobs, microwave, fridge, with freezer section, and dishwasher. The bathroom has a bath with shower above, WC and handbasin, also at ground-floor level. Climb the stairs up to the mezzanine level to discover a double bed and scenic views to wake up to.
Sit out in the pretty garden and soak up the sunshine on warm days. Have a chilled glass of wine out here and light the BBQ. Parking can be found next to the garden.
