Escape for a romantic, rural retreat filled with waterside walks and cosy nights in. Your dogs are welcome to adventure by your side and enjoy this fabulous location.

Nestled in the pretty hamlet of Dubwath situated on the edge of Lake Bassenthwaite with so much to explore in the immediate area. Only 200 metres from the sailing club and Bassenthwaite Lake Station where you can enjoy a cream tea on board the Orient Express train or a murder mystery evening! The Lakes Distillery is less than a mile away and offers tours and has a lovely bistro to enjoy a spot of lunch. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt with some brilliant bike tracks in Whinlatter Forest which is 8 miles away and there are some fabulous walks from your door: explore Sale Fell by walking from the cottage, directly in front of the main house or Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve opposite Bassenthwaite Lake Station.

 Walking through the enclosed garden, you enter the property into the useful hallway with storage for coats and muddy walking boots. You will then find the comfortable bedroom on the ground floor, which is a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request). The bedroom offers a peaceful retreat to switch off after a day exploring with pretty views over the garden. There is an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. Head up the stairs to the first floor to find the bright lounge with a Smart TV, dining area and views over the open fields. It is a great place to sit quietly and watch the local wildlife and birds. The kitchen is off the lounge, compact yet well equipped and has everything you need to prepare a hearty breakfast or romantic evening meal. There is an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, slimline dishwasher and microwave.

Venturing outside, there is an enclosed garden with seating offering the perfect area for al fresco dining, or perhaps enjoying a nice glass of wine. You may also get the opportunity to spot regular visitors including squirrels, rabbits and lots of garden birds. There is off-road parking available for one car.

A wonderful cottage, perfect for us 2 + the dogs! The small private garden is a total bonus for letting the dogs out early morning. The bed is huge, there is loads of wardrobe space and lots of coat hangers! Normally you get about 3-4 but there was about 15 sturdy ones. Nice big shower too. Perfectly placed for the northern lakes with BassenthwaiteRead more lake station & the Pheasant Inn in walking distance. Highly recommend Hide

Link House is a perfect place to stay to explore the quieter area of the Lakes. So many amazing walks within a short drive. Keswick is minutes away, a lovely town for a wander. The house had everything we needed, was so comfortable and the dogs settled straight away. Lovely walk from the house to Silver Meadow reserve for the dogs. The location of the cottage was perfect as we wanted somewhere that was quiet where we could relax. The bonus was that we were able to watch a Barn Owl in the field hunting which we could watch from the upstairs lounge window. The cottage is compact but for two people it was just fine.

A lovely and tastefully decorated cottage. Owners are lovely & friendly! The upside down layout gives fab views of the countryside. Good parking. Comfy bed, lots of storage, well equipped kitchen. Garden needs a bit of tlc to sit out comfortably. WiFi is hit & miss. Cottage ideally located for Keswick, Cockermouth, Whinlatter Forest, lovely walks iRead morencluding a couple of access points for Bassenthwaite Lake plenty of dog friendly pubs & cafes. The perfect place to relax and unwind. The hideaway is spotlessly clean and freshly decorated, its well appointed and the bed is very comfortable. I cant think of anything else you would need from a self catering property for two. Along with us, our dog also appreciated the enclosed sunny private garden. The cottage is ideally placed between Keswick and Coockermouth in a road off the A66 by Bassenthwaite Lake. It is ideal for a couple with a lovely enclosed garden and tucked quietly behind the guest house with a good parking space. Pete and Katie are very welcoming owners and have lots of advice on request for walks etc. The property is clean well Read morefurnished and very comfortable with the sitting room upstairs for views. Cosy, and warm cottage. Ideal for couples with dogs as the enclosed garden was great. Perfect location for site seeing and visiting areas of interest.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Link Hideaway. Our hosts Peter and Katie met us on arrival and they were lovely ! The cottage was perfect - very clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Lots to do in the area and a pub and cafe both within easy walking distance.

The owners were lovely and the cottage was well cared for and had everything we needed (including oven, utensils, and near by places to eat when we didn't feel like cooking). Access to the lake is a short distance up the road for paddle boarding and swimming.

Pete and Katie were really welcoming and were also very attentive throughout our stay. The surroundings were beautiful. The garden was enclosed and private and the cottage it self was spacious, very clean and well decorated. Our hosts, Katie & Peter, were very welcoming and helpful. We found the cottage comfortable and it had a lovely enclosed garden. It worked really well for us and the dog. Plenty of local walks and we explored further afield. We would happily stay there again in the future.
