Discover the pretty villages of Askham (1.5 miles), Tirril (3 miles), and Pooley Bridge (3 miles) near Ullswater (6.5 miles). Shop in the market town of Penrith (6.5 miles), or enjoy the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick (18 miles). Visit Lowther Castle and Gardens (3.5 miles) and Dalemain House and Gardens (5 miles). Take on the peak of Skiddaw (22 miles) or stay low and improve your golf game at Penrith Golf Hub with its 9-hole course, driving range, and fun foot golf (7.5 miles).

Sleeping two guests, you’ll find everything conveniently on one level here, while the thoughtful owners have furnished the property with your comfort in mind. Shop in local markets and make a memorable feast for your loved one in the small though well-equipped kitchen area, which features an electric oven with a gas hob, fridge, and microwave; an iron and ironing board are also available. Dine in the living room and sink into leather sofas by the wood burner-effect gas fire, and catch up on the day with film nights on the TV and DVD player. When night falls, enjoy the sweetest of slumbers in the king-size bedroom which has ample storage space, an en-suite shower room, and garden views. Enjoy delicious breakfasts in the sunny living space where you can look out for wildlife through the large picture window – curious red squirrels, deer, and birdlife frequent the terrace.

Outside, there’s a private seated area with bistro furniture – perfect for morning coffees. You’ll find three neighbouring cottages on-site and if you have a larger party, there’s the option to book all four properties together. A lovely clean cottage in a gorgeous position with beautiful views. The owners are friendly and helpful too.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park.
