Be inspired to write, craft, or paint, after a trip to Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top farmhouse (10 miles). Enjoy a picnic at Wordsworth’s favourite picnic area – Rydal Water (4 miles); here you can visit landmarks connected to the poet at Rydal Mount (3.5 miles) and Dora’s Field. And enjoy a memorable sunset cruise on Lake Windermere (5.5 miles) before returning to your cosy cottage.

We loved everything about this cottage..........comfortable, well equipped, car parking, easy walk to Grasmere, Sky TV......will definitely be back.

Perfect cottage, fabulous location. Everything has been thought about and the luxury hamper is a real holiday treat.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders.
