Absolutely lovely cottage in such a convenient location! Everything was clean and well organised upon arrival, with very modern but in keeping decor throughout. Would definitely recommend Lyme cottage to anyone who wants to make the most of being in such a beautiful location!

This is an attractive cottage in a good location the steep stairs are typical of a cottage of this age and style but quite usable the kitchen had all we needed maybe the bathroom is a little tight but we managed fine

Lovely, cosy holiday cottage. We made good use of the wood burner, and the sofa was super squishy! The L'Occitane toiletries were also a nice touch. The food at the local pub in Lindale was really good, and the village of Cartmel is a great spot for tea rooms and restaurants - just a short drive away. We had a very relaxing break - thank you.

What a lovely cosy romantic cottage, especially when you get the log burner on! Lovely little touch with the goodie bag, robes and LOccitane toiletries. We had no complaints but some of the comments in the guest book cited having no back garden and no gate on the front if youve got a dog as issues. Would recommend.

2nd time to Lyme Cottage and it was as perfect the second time round as it was on our first visit. Cute, charming, close to the Royal Oak Pub, driving distance to incredible hikes and walks. The perfect hideaway. Will definitely come back for a third visit!

Lovely character cottage in a good location for accessing the lakes. The cottage has everything you need and a great pub at the top of the hill called the Royal Oak and the food is very good there. The home made welcome pack with bread, scones and jam was a lovely touch. Would stay again.

We absolutely loved our time at Lyme Cottage- a relaxing and comfortable stay! The house didnt disappoint, it was just as cosy as the photos depict. It had everything you could need and we especially loved the log burner! We werent sure whether the location would be a bit isolated but it turned out to be ideal for accessing all areas, both the coasRead moret and the lakes. Any main shops are only a 5 minute drive and the local pub is a short walk from the house. We would definitely return! Hide

Great cottage, lovely feel, nice touch with welcome bag of goodies, could do with 2nd loo roll. Loved it but location is a bit off due to local pub not allowing dogs and not much else to do in close vicinity.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
