It is very well placed to discover the Lake District. Hawkshead is a lovely little village and the views from the top around its church are great. The cottage is very pleasant, with views to green fields and equipped with everything you may need. We loved the shower! We would definitely recommend this property.

Cottage is really well equipped and is very comfortable and clean. Log burners in the lounge and dinning room are great for those cold winter evening. Bathroom is really fitted out well, with a great power shower and massive bath. Cottage also has good parking.

Outstanding location. Everything in Hawkshead is absolutely on the doorstep. Some good walks from the house and bigger walks not far away. Ambleside and Windermere very close. Cottage itself is very well appointed, lounge comfortable for 5 people, plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. Many eateries with walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Meadowbank. Such a great location in Hawkshead village and walks on the doorstep. The cottage is clean, comfortable and warm with one of the best equipped holiday home kitchens weve had and also a super shower and bath. Wooden floors very practical for dogs and walkers!

Great location, views across the fields on the edge of the village, lovely, clean and comfortable. Only one minor point, the website advertised 2 bathrooms where in fact there is only 1 upstairs bathroom and a downstairs WC - I feel this is a bit misleading.

This is a very pleasant cottage in a lovely location. It is in excellent condition, and generally very well equipped. (Our only suggestions have been for an additional saucepan, and for the option of lighter duvets or equivalent.) We had a really excellent holiday, and would very much recommend this cottage.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
