Located on the outskirts of the popular village of Hawkshead, this delightful semi-detached cottage makes for a welcoming retreat for a holiday with family or friends. It’s set on a private road and has a range of hiking trails on the doorstep, which will appeal to the two canines who are also welcome here too. Sleeping five people, the property is also a great base for exploring the beautiful Lake Windermere.

Enjoying stunning countryside views, this pretty home has a welcoming, cottage-style feel. After a busy day, pull off your walking boots and retreat to the colourful lounge where the cosy wood burner will warm your toes while you enjoy a film. The dining room is a sociable space with plenty of room for everyone to gather to enjoy a bite to eat, with the added bonus of a further wood burner. On warmer evenings, open the French doors which lead into the garden. The group’s chefs will enjoy cooking up a storm in the stylish kitchen, which takes in some gorgeous views from the window. Three restful bedrooms are found upstairs, each tastefully decorated with pine furniture and simple colour themes. Take a relaxing soak in the contemporary bathroom, which is found on this level as well. The hounds will enjoy sniffing around the patio garden outside, while you relax on the patio and take in that stunning view.

Enjoy a bite to eat in Hawkshead before stopping off at the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Lake Windermere (5 miles) and Coniston Water (4.5 miles) are both must-see attractions, with boat rides, scenic walks and water sports on offer. The National Park’s Brockhole on Windermere centre (6.5 miles) offers everything from orienteering to treetop treks. Explore the family-friendly Wray Castle and its grounds, 3 miles away.

Stayed here in April, brilliant location . Cottage was spacious , clean and had everything you needed. 1 minute walk into village which had a few pubs/co op/chippy and other quaint shops. Surrounded by walks and easy accessible to all surrounding areas. Brilliant find and will return.

House is in a good location, and close to Hawkshead shops. But overall we were disappointed with the issues we found in the house! Expensive (in our opinion) and we had lots of minor issues. Heating didn't work, no condiments left, garden steps dangerous when wet, and NO outside light. Back garden isn't great for dogs, too small and multiple levelsRead more. No privacy glass in bathroom, blinds had to be kept shut. Owners could do better. Hide

Perfect, quiet location only 3 minutes walk to the centre of Hawkshead. Very private small back garden but not totally dog proof as our small border terrier would be able to get through the gaps in the dividing fence If allowed

Very cold property, take wood with you. Garage door wouldn't open, and the bad door key is worn so this makes it difficult to open. The property is clean , kitchen very good but no curtains or nets, so very open in the evening. Garden needs work.
