Beautiful, cosy cottage in the picturesque village of Beatrix Potters Near Sawrey. The log fire was most welcome after a cold winters day out. The kitchen was extremely well equipped for cooking all kinds of meals, there were even chopsticks and corn on the cob skewers! A hop across the road to the charming village pub and a very quick drive to HawRead morekshead for supplies. The beds were all very comfortable and the cottage was very quiet, perfect for getting our little ones to sleep. Well be back! Hide

This is a large cottage in an idyllic place. It is ideal for multi generation gatherings of family or friends. There is plenty of room for eight yet the property retains a cosy feel. The wood burner is superb. Its location on the west of Windermere suits those looking for a less commercialised Lakes experience. The nearby restaurants of Forest BankRead more and Cuckoo Nest are excellent ( booking essential - yes really). A restorative experience which I would highly recommend. Hide

Wonderful property in a really quiet location. The open plan layout meant even on wet days there was plenty of space for every one to do their thing, whilst still being together as a group. We stayed as a group of six, four of which were in their mid 20's and we all loved it. Very well equipped, nice modern bathrooms although people much over six fRead moreeet will struggle on the top floor. With a pub across the road and short walks from the property, a winner all the way. Hide

We had an amazing week at Meadowcroft, we would definitely go back again. The house is just across the road from Hill Top and in a good location to explore Hawkeshead, Bowness and Ambleside. The cottage was very well equipped and had lots of added extras that you dont always get in a holiday cottage, lots of board games, DVDs, etc. There is a dailyRead more milk delivery (optional) which was really handy and meant we didnt need to top up during our break. I cannot recommend this cottage enough! Hide

A very well situated holiday cottage. Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. A lovely village which would suit everyone, especially anyone with an interest in Beatrix Potter, given the history of the cottage and the local pub and their connections with the writer. We all felt we had a lovely, relaxed holiday.
