Beautiful first-floor apartment in a beautiful country house, located in the village of Far Sawrey and enjoying easy access to scenic walks.

This glorious first-floor apartment is set in the country house of Sawrey Knotts, situated above the charming hamlet of Far Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her timeless stories. With spectacular views of Lake Windermere, and Claife Heights nearby, this is a perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Two miles away is Hawkshead, a thriving village between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, with numerous great tea rooms, pubs and gift shops. Nearby is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake which inspired Wordsworth. Ambleside, Coniston, Grizedale Forest and Grasmere are within easy reach, and Windermere and Bowness are a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On entering this magnificent house you will find yourself in the large and stylish welcoming entrance hall with its winding staircase which leads to your first-floor apartment. On entering you will find the spacious and bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The welcoming and comfortable lounge boasts a fine bay window offering spectacular countryside views. With an open fire, TV, DVD, CD and radio, this is the perfect space to sit back and relax. Moving over to the elegant and attractive kitchen, you will find everything you might need including double oven, ceramic hob, larder fridge and dishwasher. Exploring further, you will find three comfy bedrooms. The romantic master bedroom, complete with chandelier, TV and DVD, has panoramic views down to Lake Windermere. There is also an en-suite shower room complete with WC. The cosy second bedroom has twin zip-and-link beds (which can be made up into a double if requested at time of booking). Finally, there is a very pretty single room which is situated in the tower of the property. There is also a bathroom complete with hand-held shower and WC.

Stepping outside, you can enjoy and relax in the lovely and extensive shared gardens with spectacular views. Off-road parking is available for two cars. The owners have kindly arranged for guests to have access to Burnside Spa in Bowness during their stay.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A beautiful location and a very well appointed apartment. Despite the freezing temperatures the rooms were warm and cosy. Amazing walks for us and our dog started from the front door...no need for the car.
