Encircled by a vast expanse of beautiful gardens and grounds, this delightful apartment forms part of an impressive Grade II listed property studded within the peaceful village of Orton.

Elegant, imposing and brimming with history, this beautiful apartment is based on the first floor of an 18th-century property that’s surrounded by over 5 acres of grounds. A short 0.5-mile walk will bring you to the centre of the village; a quintessential setting with a famous chocolate shop that offers handcrafted delights. For walkers, Orton Scar and the Howgills are an exciting prospect for an afternoon excursion, and it is easy to see why this beautiful landscape was so celebrated by renowned fell walker and author Alfred Wainwright. Further afield, the Settle to Carlisle Railway is a must-see, and you can hop on board to enjoy the views from Appleby Station 10.5 miles away.

Cross the gardens and enter the main hall where stone mullioned windows, wooden panelling and rustic furniture set the scene and discover the shared drawing room with its ornate wooden ceiling and cosy seating. There is a shared pool table, a chess table and a baby grand piano for entertainment and there is a laundry room further along the corridor with a coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer. Climb the staircase to the first floor to reach your front door, where you will find your private apartment with its high ceilings and traditional decor. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is spacious and inviting whether you are settled on the window seat admiring the views or switching on the flame-effect fire to snuggle down on the sofa watching the Smart TV. Prepare meals in the kitchen using the excellent range of equipment including an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Dine in style at the long table in the large mullioned and lead-paned bay window overlooking the rear lawns and woodland. At bedtime, the bedroom has a delightful king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the spa bath and WC.

Back downstairs, the vast expanse of shared gardens and grounds stretch for over 5 acres with stunning vistas at every turn. Manicured lawns, mature trees and shrubbery surround the majestic property and there is a fountain and a fishpond too. Woodland paths lead through a copse to a viewing point overlooking Orton Scar and the Howgills in the distance and there are trails leading into Orton Village. Parking for one car is available in a designated space close to the front door.

Naseby is a great little apartment with everything you could possibly need. Set in beautiful grounds with rabbits and red squirrels. It's an ideal base for exploring the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Nice pub in the village but get there early if you want to eat as it's popular! Orton also has a very handy store for basic groceries and a lRead moreovely chocolate shop with a cafe. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommend staying here and plan to return. Hide

I cannot stress how well equipped this apartment is - a real home from home. Everything included from washing up liquid and shampoo to chargers for electrical appliances ( a godsend as we had forgotten ours.) A great place to explore the less busy north Lakes or Yorkshire Dales. Very quiet and peaceful so we will definitely be staying here again

The accommodation was ideally situated for exploring the lakes and surrounding areas. There was a pub and shop about a 5 minute walk, the locals were very friendly. The accommodation itself was well equipped and catered for every need, the rooms were comfortable and spacious. Would highly recommend a stay and would definitely stay again.

Superb accommodation in beautiful and extensive grounds, within easy walking distance of the village. The apartment had everything we needed with lots of additional special touches. Really comfortable and relaxing accommodation. The hallway was very impressive leading to a large shared lounge where one could sit and chat, or play chess or snooker. Very well located for local walks, and visiting the nearby Lakes. Beautiful property in lovely grounds, great to have a drink on a bench outside looking at the view, or sitting in the window seat in the sunshine.
