Romantic cottage offering lovely accommodation for two guests in the Lake District village of Bouth. An idyllic couple’s retreat situated just four miles from the edge of picturesque Lake Windermere.

Enjoying a tranquil location in the pretty village of Bouth, this couples’ retreat is the perfect place to really get away from it all. Just 4 miles from the shores of Lake Windermere, there are also some fantastic walks and cycle trails on the doorstep, meaning you can travel as much or as little as you like. For picking up your essentials and a bite to eat, the local pub and farm shop is within walking distance.

Whip up a romantic meal for two in here, which you can both then enjoy at the wood dining table. After a long day of walking, retreat to the cosy lounge and get the wood burner going as you settle down to watch a film and enjoy a glass of wine together. Heading upstairs, the romantic bedroom is elegantly designed with exposed beams and stonework adding to its character. Enjoy a long soak in the free-standing bath in the bathroom, before snuggling up under the covers and drifting off into a deep sleep. Take a seat outside on the sunny patio and get the BBQ going on warmer evenings, to enjoy some al fresco drinks and dining.

Just 4 miles away you’ll find yourselves on the shores of Lake Windermere where you can enjoy a pleasure cruise or follow one of the many scenic walks that surround it. Take a boat trip across the lake to explore the fascinating Wray Castle, which overlooks the water. The Lakeland Motor Museum (3.5 miles) has a unique collection of more than 30,000 exhibits, while there are some super pubs and shops to wander around in Hawkshead, 9 miles away.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
