We found this spacious apartment a great base for exploring both the Cumbrian coast and the Lakes. It had every home comfort we could have asked for and allowed the two of us to unwind. The dog enjoyed exploring the well maintained grounds around the property, the proximity of a lakeside walk (less than 5 mins away) was a great bonus too.

Really super place for a couple. Great location for the Cumbrian coast and western Lake District with the amenities and facilities of Whitehaven very close by. The property is really very nicely appointed, very comfortable and superbly fitted out with everything you need for two people (and a dog) and nice touches like a proper coffee machine, niceRead more bed linen, new towels etc. The building itself is also interesting, with friendly and helpful owners nearby. Highly recommended.. Hide

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
