Step back in time and enjoy the charms of this traditional Lakeland cottage. Laid out for two to stay, the property lends itself perfectly to a couple hoping for a romantic retreat and the chance to get away from it all. The rural location of the cottage ensures that only undisturbed countryside and the sound of wildlife will act as your neighbours, offering you the chance to spend some well-deserved quality time together. Luxury touches including a roll top bath and king-size bed elevate the stay to one you won’t soon forget, whilst the ability to bring along one dog to stay with you will be a joy for any keen walkers.

Filled to the brim with character, this detached two-storey cottage provides both comfort and style with period features and inviting furnishings. Step into the open-plan living space with kitchen, dining room and lounge. Kept warm and cosy thanks to an Aga and an inglenook fireplace with wood burner, this space is ideal for watching TV or selecting a good book from the snug. Head on up to the first floor where a luxurious bathroom sits alongside a king-size bedroom with stunning views to wake up to each morning. And, completing the property, generous gardens set to lawn surround the property and are perfect for sunny evenings.

With the town of Windermere and its namesake lake just 6.5 miles from home, you'll never feel too detached from adventure when staying in this remote village. Keen mountaineers will be pleased to find the areas highest mountains, Scafell Pike and Helvellyn, both within 20 miles from home, whilst those with fewer miles beneath their walking boots can enjoy the challenge of Catbells (23 miles), Blencathra (25 miles) or perhaps just a water side walk around Ullswater (11 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Overall a lovely cottage in a splendid location, the views and surrounding walks were fantastic. The cottage itself was well kitted out, and very tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed the open fireplace and cooking on the range cooker. A very relaxing holiday and highly recommended.

A beautiful sanctuary away from busy life. The Kentmere valley is heavenly and the cottage is so cosy and tasteful. We have stayed in the owners other properties before and would highly recommend. The Lake District works its magic yet again .

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
