This cottage enjoys a quiet location in the small village of Far Sawrey, with its popular pub the Cuckoo Brow Inn. Just half a mile away is the neighbouring village of Near Sawrey, where visitors will find the National Trust managed Hill Top, former home of Beatrix Potter. A little further along the same road brings visitors to the attractive village of Hawkshead with its range of shops, pubs, and National Trust properties. Just over a mile from the property is the western shore of Lake Windermere, from where the ferry runs across the lake to the opposite side.

On entering the cottage, a flag-stoned hallway brings guests to the lounge with its feature fireplace, comfortable seating, TV/DVD, and views across the garden. The pretty dining room has an antique dining table for four and a door leading out to the garden, views of which can be enjoyed from the armchairs, making this an enjoyable space to relax. The property’s kitchen has a beamed ceiling and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine.  Half way up the stairs you will find the compact bathroom which offers a bath with handheld shower and WC. On the first floor you will find three pretty bedrooms: a double and two single rooms. There is also a separate WC on this floor.

To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with a patioed seating area close to the house, beyond which is a pretty lawn. Guests are able to access the owner’s secure garage which provides a place to store bikes and muddy boots. There is off-road parking for two cars provided.

Lovely Quaint Cottage with great walks and pubs on the doorstep Pepper Yeat is a quaint cottage in Far Sawry and therefore very close to the local pub which serves excellent evening meals and is dog friendly. The Tower Bank is also only a short walk away. There are many great walks right from the door including Claife Heights and Cunsy which leadRead mores to the shores of Windermere. Whilst the cottage was cosy it would've been a squeeze for more than a couple and a dog. The only thing that wasn't convenient was the shower which was fixed to the bath taps and not the wall however this was a very minor thing in the grand scheme of things and wouldn't put us off returning at all. Theres a nice little cafe Hillstop just a few metres away however we only managed to find it open just the once which was a great shame as we would've used it every day otherwise. We will return to the area this year but to a larger cottage for 4 of us and the dog :-) Hide

We really enjoyed our week. It was a brilliant location and very good for us having a dog, as in not carpeted downstairs and with a room you could go straight into from the garden. It was also very good for us having three rooms _ one double and two single, as opposed to one double and one twin (which was the case with most other cottages we lookedRead more at). Our teenagers were very happy not to share! it's not modern inside, but it's a cottage! We would happily go back. Hide
