The oak staircase leads to the first floor where three of the restful bedrooms are found, along with a bathroom. A secret staircase leads to the second floor where two further pretty bedrooms are located, with exposed beams and some reduced head height. Eat at one of the great local pubs, before trying Cartmel’s famous sticky toffee pudding. The shores of Lake Windermere are 6.5 miles away, where you can have a go at canoeing and paddle boarding or enjoy a pleasure cruise. For a day on the coast, Grange-over-Sands is 2.5 miles away.
