In an enviable elevated position overlooking stunning Ullswater, this three-bedroom property is a spacious and homely base from which to explore the eastern reaches of the Lake District National Park. The property was seen on BBC One's Escape to the Country in April 2023.

Enjoy memorable getaways with friends or family in this beautifully presented house that’s perfectly positioned for exploring this beautiful area on foot.  Take to the nearby footpaths and set out for a stroll around this 9-mile-long lake. Stop for a picnic on the lakeshore or jump on board one of Ullswater’s famous steamers, which connect to some spectacular walking routes around the lake including Aira Force, Glenridding and Pooley Bridge. Head for higher ground as you take on the High Street ridge from Pooley Bridge or Howtown and marvel at the breath-taking views from the top. The house is conveniently situated on the lakeward side of the A592. For amenities, the market town of Penrith boasts a choice of supermarkets and independent shops and eateries together with a ruined castle and 18th century church. Other nearby attractions include the city of Carlisle and the historic house of Dalemain.

Inside, this period property retains plenty of original features while also displaying calming neutral decor and contemporary appliances. Leave coats and boots in the welcoming entrance hall before continuing into the spacious lounge. With an ornate feature fireplace with electric fire, plump sofas and armchairs, Freeview TV and French doors opening onto the patio, this is a relaxing and homely space. The kitchen is modern and stylish, with chrome units, a flagstone floor and chic pendant lighting. Here you will find an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Once prepared, enjoy meals with a view over the lake in the formal dining room. Also on the ground floor is a utility area and WC. Upstairs are three elegantly presented double bedrooms, one of which has its own en-suite bathroom with half-size bath and a shower over the bath. Meanwhile, the other bedrooms share a large bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Stepping outside, the large enclosed garden, is a peaceful spot for spending sunny afternoons, with its large lawn, mature trees and fabulous views of the lake. The garden also benefits from a picnic area and table. There is parking for up to three cars.
