We loved our stay at Rayne Cottages! The view was peaceful and spectacular, and the accommodations were cozy and comfortable. The location was ideal, as it was close to the motorway and allowed us to visit and sightsee the surrounding hamlets and towns. Allison (owner) was very friendly and helpful. She allowed us to check in early and let us know Read moreabout the various attractions near by. She was easy to contact if we needed anything. We will definitely be coming back for another holiday. Nice place, clean, a lot of attention to features and comfortable. scenery was stunning! cottage is quite close to busy A Road, if your light sleeper its quite loud in the early morning. i have allergies to air-freshners, and there is quite a lot in all rooms of cottage. Bring bottled water if your fussy about taste!

A wonderful cottage set close enough to good roads making travel to local attractions easy. The cottage was lovely and warm even in January. Facilities were clean and comfortable and the views were nice. It's the sort of place you wouldn't mind too much being snowed in.

Beautiful, warm, comfortable cottage with amazing views. Set away from it all in the countryside so lovely and peaceful and dark. The stars were amazing and the frosty mornings beautiful. Loved the doggy treat basket!

Im quite fussy so I was impressed with the cleanliness, the location and the beautiful cottage as a whole. The owners are attentive and welcoming at any given hour. Will definitely be back to do it all over again.

The cottage was lovely, and the location was excellent and so quiet and peaceful. It was a great base for heading off to the lakes or the Yorkshire Dales. The hot tub was an extra treat and wonderful to relax in and look at the view. We had a great holiday.

Due to fencing and gravel outside area probably not best suited to small children. The cottage has everything you could ask for a very comfortable holiday. The owners live across the road and are very helpful ie providing the cot and high chair. The cottage is in the most beautiful countryside with spectacular views. The cottage is central for a loRead moret of different places but you need to get in the car for at least 30 min drive for places to visit, no village or facilities within walking distance. Hide

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
