In a stunning riverside location in the popular village of Grasmere, this two-storey apartment is the perfect base from which to explore the Lake District National Park. Set out on foot to browse the local shops and eateries before getting out on the water or enjoying a scenic stroll at nearby Windermere. Afterwards, return to the spacious and bright accommodation, which boasts exposed beams, modern comforts and a decked balcony overlooking the river.

Inside, this homely apartment has been tastefully finished to provide light and airy rooms decorated in soft neutral hues. Entertain in the sunny kitchen/diner, where you will find everything you could need for rustling up delicious meals, plus pretty views. At the end of a long day, sink into the inviting sofa and armchair in the lounge while catching up on your favourite TV programmes. Upstairs, the beautifully presented twin and king-size bedrooms boast fresh, neutral decor and original ceiling beams. Outside, the decked balcony is the perfect spot for enjoying an evening glass of wine or morning cup of coffee while listening to the sounds of the river.

The former home of William Wordsworth, Grasmere now hosts a great selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. It is also the starting point for many wonderful walks through the area including to nearby Ambleside (5 miles), which sits at the top of Lake Windermere. Offering a variety of boat trips, water sports, hiking expeditions and dining options, Windermere is a must for anyone visiting the area. Meanwhile, other nearby attractions include the National Trust’s Wray Castle (7.5 miles) and the World of Beatrix Potter (10 miles).

Lovely comfortable cottage, second time I have stayed here and the location is perfect. Beautiful scenery and walks right outside the front door. Will definitely stay again.

Fantastic location in wonderful Grasmere overlooking the river. Fairly spacious cottage for a family of 4, but would benefit from some modernisation inside.

Position within the village was excellent being very central and at the same time being insulated from outside noise. The accommodation provided plenty of space and was reasonably comfortable, however the overall impression was that the interior was a little tired and in need of some TLC.

This property was in a wonderful location which meant we were able to walk from the door and leave the car at home. The rooms were really spacious and having two bathrooms was a real luxury!

The highlight of this flat is the location. It is so central, and the fact it has parking is so useful when Grasmere is busy. The flat is more like a house and much bigger than expected. The owners left useful things like dishwasher tablets and washing tablets which were very thoughtful. The flat was a bit chilly so we needed the heating due to theRead more single glazing. There is basic comfort, facilities and fittings and could do with a refurbishment . Poor lighting for mirrors and readIng - except in kitchen area. Take your own shower gel etc. Best feature is location in centre of village.
