Great place to get away from it all. Great base for visiting the lakes. Very comfy beds. Lovely pub down the road that does a lovely Sunday lunch. Park with football pitch and tennis court in walking distance. Cosy, clean and relaxing outside space. We will be back!

Loved our week away in the Lake District at Rose Cottage. So clean, neat well equipped and comfortable. A perfect location for us to visit a different part of the Lakes to usual. Loved the fact we did not have to drive through Ambleside to visit fabulous locations. The pub on the doorstep was a huge plus. Best sleep I've had for months too!

Fantastic, warm, comfy cottage in our ideal village. We have been visiting Satterthwaite for 23 years and Rose Cottage is perfectly placed to explore the Grizedale and surrounding areas. Just a pity that we wont be able to return as youre no longer accepting pets. Many thanks.

Fantastic location, perfect for a family of three. Took our 3 year old and it was great. Fireplace was lovely and cosy. Fabulous location (even in the rain), if you enjoy the outdoors it's perfect. A stones throw from the Grizedale visitors center and a short drive from Hawkshead and Lakeside.

A lovely cottage with loads of walking options, especially if you have a dog, not that many sheep around as you have miles of forest. If you want to see the lakes in the South I would recommend a place much closer, as it can take a long while in the car to get to them, but we wanted to explore the Western Lakes this time.

Excellent size for a small family. Lovely traditional looking cottage on the outside, but with none of the creaks and draughts you expect of an old house inside - inside was really nice and modern without spoiling its charm. The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
