We had a lovely stay in this traditional cottage, whilst on the road, its very quiet and the courtyard offers privacy. Very close to a good friendly pub and some great views and walks on doorstep.

We had a lovely week in the lakes and at this cottage. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Also enjoyed the biscuits and coffee which were in the welcome pack. Please do read all the details as it had passed us by that the bathroom was down stairs and parking was on the road.

Such a lovely cottage. Lovely quiet location just the sound of sheep. Cottage was so well equipped anything we had forgotten seemed to be there, beds comfy, bathroom lovely, courtyard was a sun trap when it came out and it was so nice having the fire on after a long cold walk. Comfortable and well equipped cottage. Great to have items like a cafetiere and slow cooker in the kitchen. Nice and quiet location but easy distances to great walks/cycle rides in Grizedale Forest and close to numerous mountain walks. Owners very responsive to questions.

Excellent size for a small family. Lovely traditional looking cottage on the outside, but with none of the creaks and draughts you expect of an old house inside - inside was really nice and modern without spoiling its charm. The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the forest on foot and bike, and the village had a lovely pub with a small, sunRead moreny beer garden. I would definitely consider returning here, any time of the year. I bet it's nice and cosy in the winter. Hide

Pleasant, good furnishings and in a pretty location. Great wood burner. However, nowhere to dry your clothes in the winter. Takes days to dry anything. Would benefit from a tumble dryer being installed in an out building and perhaps being coin operated to save on electricity costs.

Absolutely beautiful cottage really well appointed and cosy. We were greeted by a welcome pack of ground coffee, tea bags and a bottle of milk in the fridge. The cottage had everything you would want including a wood burning fire which was great. For us it was located in a great spot to walk over the Grizedale forest.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
