Pleasant, good furnishings and in a pretty location. Great wood burner. However, nowhere to dry your clothes in the winter. Takes days to dry anything. Would benefit from a tumble dryer being installed in an out building and perhaps being coin operated to save on electricity costs.

Absolutely beautiful cottage really well appointed and cosy. We were greeted by a welcome pack of ground coffee, tea bags and a bottle of milk in the fridge. The cottage had everything you would want including a wood burning fire which was great. For us it was located in a great spot to walk over the Grizedale forest.

Small, but perfectly formed cottage in a lovely wee village with a great pub. Comfy bed, great fire and good shower. Excellent location for walking directly from the property

The cottage is well located for exploring all the southern Lake District region. Walks are also accessible straight from the cottage, following a variety of trails directly into Grizedale Forest.

A lovely cottage, very homely feel, nice little garden, comfy yet squeaky bed! the road outside can become a little noisy with traffic. Great location for Grizedale walks, just minutes walk away but a little remote to get to Ambleside or Hawkshead. Lovely friendly pub 100yrds away. Very nice stay in all though, thank you.

We found the cottage to be very well appointed and equipped. There were a couple of minor issues but these were sorted immediately. There was everything we needed and the location was fab. The master bed was very comfortable. It was much softer than I am used to but so comfortable that I am considering replacing my own with similar. Excellent serviRead morece and I would fully recommend. There is limited parking but it is perfectly suited for a couple with a child or for two single people Hide

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
