Offering stylish accommodation for four people, this attractive cottage is located in the popular village of Cartmel, a haven for foodies. It’s a super base for those looking to explore the beautiful fells and lakes of the national park, while it also enjoys easy access to the coast. Two dogs are welcome to join you, meaning the whole family can take off on a break together.

Contemporary touches throughout this charming property make it a comfortable and homely choice for your break. The modern kitchen will be a welcome space for those guests who enjoy cooking, with all you need to rustle up a snack or family meal. The cottage benefits from two reception rooms, giving everyone plenty of space to relax and unwind. The welcoming lounge/diner is a lovely space for family meals, with a sofa and flame effect gas fire adding to its cosiness, while the main lounge also has a similar fire and snuggly sofas to curl up on. French doors lead from here into the courtyard garden. Upstairs, you’ll discover two tasteful en-suite bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, which create a restful environment for a good night’s sleep. Sit back and enjoy a drink in the shingled courtyard in the evening, while the children and dogs explore.

If food is your thing then look no further than Cartmel, famous for the sticky toffee pudding that began here. For water sports, hikes and boat trips, Lake Windermere (6.5 miles) has something for everyone to enjoy, while the National Trust’s Fell Foot country park (6 miles) is great for a paddle. For some fresh coastal air, pack a picnic and head to Grange-over-Sands, 2 miles away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Rossendale House is spacious and bright. It is close to the village and has a corner shop, public house and bread shop three doors down. The decor is fresh and modern with stunning prints by the owner. The sofas, beds and furniture are functional as well as comfortable, I fell asleep on the sofa too many times to mention!! Location of cottage is fine but too many issues needing to be resolved for a relaxing stay. Spent about two hours on day after arrival trying to sort out issue of lock on French windows and ended up having to sort out problem myself. Gave up on other issues as did not want to waste more time which should have been leisure. Overall property is not uRead morep to the standard expected for a weekly rental of 900. Hide

Perfect location and the off-road parking was ideal. The enclosed, gated garden provided privacy and safety for our 2 dogs and has the sun all day. The cottage was spacious and provided everything we needed for our week long stay. I would definitely return and recommend it.

Location of Rossendale House was fantastic. Almost opposite a good local pub. Having only a two minute walk into the village was also a luxury. I could imagine this would be a premium on race day! The home itself had well appointed bedrooms - both bedrooms with an En-suite. There was a good feeling a space and comfort and there were also a full ranRead morege of appliances which meant you didnt have to do lots of washing up or running out of clean clothes! This is the second time we have stayed at Rossendale House and can't wait to return again next year. The property is spacious and comfortable,a real home from home . The off road parking is a massive plus due to the village filling up over the racing weekend.
