Make your great escape to this appealing farmhouse near Selside, some 5 miles from the Lakeland town of Kendal. Less than 1 mile from the edge of the Lake District National Park, the four-bedroom house is also well-positioned for days out into the Yorkshire Dales. Sleeping eight people, the traditional country cottage, which enjoys gorgeous leafy gardens, could be ideal for an extended family keen to holiday together or friends seeking a group break.
Open the door of this charming cottage, which dates back to the 1600s, and find yourself in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its beamed ceiling and generous space. Gather on the sofas in here to watch the Smart TV as the wood burner crackles in the background. Wander through to the kitchen/diner to prepare delicious meals with local produce, including the fresh eggs sold next door, and then to sit down to meals together. Also on the ground floor, find you have a shower room, with WC, and utility area, with washing machine, dryer and outdoor clothing storage space. As night falls, head on up to the first floor, where there are three king-size rooms, one of which can be made up as twins upon request, plus a bunk bedroom.
