This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, we saw deer in the garden plus lots of birds, squirrels and pheasants. Because of Coronavirus we didnt venture too far out preferring to have nice walks beside Windermere and Coniston then returning to the cottage and cosying up with a log fire and a glass of wine. This cottage is in a great location and suitable for dogs. The kitchen has a good layout with lots of space, however there is no salt, pepper or oil, so be sure to bring all of the essentials yourself! The beds a little uncomfortable and the property itself could do with a bit of TLC as some of the walls have paint/plaster worn off.

Lovely location with many walks close by. Garden is enclosed apart from a gate which fell down ages ago. One of the walls is low so bigger dogs may jump over. Cottage is very comfortable but the Aga smells of oil badly and is very warm. We had to open the windows in February. Pub is 5 mins walk away but down a steep slope. The house is in a beautiful quiet spot. Very well laid out inside and extremely warm with the AGA . At times it was too hot and we turned many of the radiators down. Great accommodation and location. Great standard but needs a little TLC. If bringing dogs great garden for them, but consider low wall on one side is easy for medium size dogs upwards to jump. Would definitely book the property again

A lovely cottage tucked away in a quiet and beautiful area of the lakes. Very homely feel and plenty of space both inside and out. Lovely spot! House is very warm due to AGA so needed most windows wide open on hot days.

Our family of 6 adults spent a wonderful week at Sawrey Stables. The accommodation was every bit as lovely as in the website photos -- spacious and comfortable with a warm and cosy feel (due to the Aga and the real fire in the living-room). The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
