A beautiful, quaint cottage in the heart of Hawkshead. Everything you need on the doorstep, 4 pubs serving fantastic food, well stocked shop, post office and cafes. A brilliant base for exploring the lakes. Would highly recommend Spinners Loft and holidaycottages.co.uk. A very efficient service from them, easy to book and contact during your stay aRead mores they have an office based in the village. Hide

A lovely little property in the centre of Hawkshead with very easy access to the village facilities, including a well stocked Co-op, four pubs and a some smaller cafes. It is worth pointing out that the steps to the property are narrow and step, so may not be suitable for the less mobile and smaller children.

You will not find a better place to stay than Spinners Loft. Location is perfect, the whole space was lovely and warm for our arrival, the bed is unbelievably comfy and the living space is super cosy. We had everything we needed and there was even a lovely little welcome bag with a few treats which was a lovely addition. Perfect Christmas getaway.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
