A fine example of an Arts and Crafts cottage, located in the village of Near Sawrey, and a short distance from Lake Windermere sand Hawkshead.

Situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere in the delightful little hamlet of Far Sawrey, where Beatrix Potter wrote many of her famous stories, the cottage is also close to Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Nearby is Esthwaite Water, a fantastic fishing lake which also inspired Wordsworth. Ambleside, Coniston, Grizedale and Grasmere are within easy reach, and Windermere and Bowness are a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

This pretty, Lakeland cottage, built at the turn of the century, offers all modern conveniences, combined with original features. Being the end cottage of a row of three, it benefits from a large garden and woodland to the rear. In the village of Near Sawrey, so loved by Beatrix Potter, it is in a perfect location - with a pub only a short stroll away, many walks starting from your doorstep and only a short drive to the shops and cafes of Hawkshead.

From the pretty  timber porch you step into the cosy sitting room with wood burning stove as a welcoming focal point. There is a sofa and two armchairs, flatscreen TV and DVD player.
From a central hall you enter the newly refurbished kitchen with pale cream units and marble worktops. This well equipped kitchen at the rear of the cottage has an electric oven and hob, microwave, large built in fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A short flight of steps lead down to a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Opposite lies the dining room complete with table, chairs, dresser and the decorative original fireplace.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms: the spacious master bedroom has an elegant, walnut sleigh bed which is complemented by the selection of antique furniture. There is also a sofa and TV in this large double aspect room. The second pretty bedroom offers a double and has the original fireplace and attractive sloping ceilings. The bathroom has a roll top bath, a separate shower cubicle, hand basin and WC.

There is a large garden with lawn to the side and a walled patio to the front of the cottage. Bordered by dry stone walls and fences it has a lovely garden where all the family can relax and make the most of this quiet, village location. There is also an acre of woodland behind the cottage for use of guests.

There is oil central heating throughout making this a perfect hideaway no matter what time of year. The gravel drive to the side of the cottage allows easy off road parking for 3 cars. There is a secure garage for guests which is perfect for storing bikes etc.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
