Homely cottage offering comfortable accommodation sleeping four adults plus 2 children in the bunk room if required, sitting in a picturesque position overlooking Coniston Water and the surrounding mountains.

Perfect for a family holiday, this charming three-bedroom cottage is situated in an impressive elevated position above Coniston Water. Enjoying panoramic mountain views, it’s conveniently located within walking distance of Coniston village with its choice of pubs and shops. It can accommodate four adults, with a bunk bedroom for two children, making it a great base for small groups.

This homely property has a lovely rural style, with traditional touches blending beautifully with all your modern comforts. The front door opens onto the kitchen/diner, a bright room with a dining table and all the equipment you will need to make yourselves at home. Relax in the pretty lounge, which is a light-filled space with comfortable sofas you can snuggle up on as the wood burner warms your toes. The views from here are impressive too. Two bedrooms are to be found on the first floor of the property, a restful en-suite double and a bunk bedroom suitable for children. The third bedroom, a pretty double, is in the attic space on the second floor, with some reduced head-space due to its location in the eaves of the house. Head out through the patio doors in the lounge onto your private terrace and take in the stunning landscape views. Steps also lead down from here onto another terrace where you can enjoy a BBQ and some al fresco drinks.

Wander around the shops in Coniston village before grabbing a bite to eat in one of the local pubs. Hire a craft from the boating centre here and head out onto the lake. Follow one of the many local walks around the cottage, or for a more adventurous day, the Old Man of Coniston (1 mile) is a great spot for walkers of all abilities, with different trails to the summit.

Beautiful cottage with stunning views from the lounge and bedrooms over Coniston and plenty of outside seating on either the balcony or garden terraces. Perfect for 4 people comfortably with good facilities and a short ( if steep ) walk into town. Not suitable for those with restricted mobility as there are steep stairs.

The house was in an idyllic location and beautiful and well equipped . The views were worth the walk up from the village to it. Light , clean and comfortable. Would recommend .

Beautifully appointed compact, cosy cottage, ideally situated for a base in the Lakes with stunning views and proximity to the village. Ideal for a couple, maybe 4 at a push. Very well equipped kitchen, but so much so there is no storage space for food aside from the fridge or iced-over freezer. Cleaning was worryingly inadequate, but I would stay Read moreagain. We were delighted by the setting, the views and proximity to the village. It was a very good base for walks on the fells and around the lake. Cottage was warm, comfortable and welcoming to come back to.

Lovely, cosy cottage in stunning location. Amazing views over the lake and village. Very steep climb up to the property not for the fainthearted but worth the effort. Ideal for a couple bit tight for four adults. Would certainly choose this cottage again.

A characterful cottage with the most stunning view and a lovely terraced garden. The approach is very steep and not for the fainthearted but definitely worth the effort! Just a few minutes walk from the fells and within easy reach of some great pubs and bistros in Coniston, whilst still being away from the busyness of the main towns. The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
