Luxurious micro-lodge perfect for a cosy romantic retreat. Escape to the country and explore the fantastic walking routes directly from the property with plenty to choose from.

Sitting in the quaint village of Calthwaite with its welcoming, local pub, escape to the Lake District for adventurous days and relaxing nights. A splendid abode for romantic retreats (with your four-legged canine third wheel of course!), explore your surroundings and hunt out spots to have a ball before returning home to your bubbling, private hot tub and charming home from home.

Step up to the decking and head inside to begin unpacking provisions and making yourselves at home. Cleverly designed to maximise space, the open-plan living area has all you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. After long days out and about, settle on the sofa with a mug of something warm in hand and switch on the Smart TV to unwind and switch off. After a moment of peace and quiet, step over to the kitchenette where you can rustle up treats for all the family and cook up feasts to take outside on balmy evenings. Dine alfresco on the decking and take a tipple outside for an evening of sundowners. If the sun shines late into the evening, sprawl out on the pair of sun loungers, or if there is a chill in the air, soak the night away in the hot tub before heading to bed. One of the sofas cleverly hides a pull-out bed, when it’s time to say goodnight and snuggle under the covers, prepare your covers and hop in for a peaceful sleep. Rise and shine and treat yourself to a rainfall shower before heading out to adventure. There is off-road parking for one car.

For a fun-filled day on the water, travel 16.5 miles south to the magnificent, second largest lake in England, Ullswater. Make a splash and hire kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and more, or book a cruise on the Ullswater Steamer and take your pooch for a trip. If you fancy sticking to dry land, the Ullswater Way is a 20-mile route which follows the outside of the lake. After a great day out, stop off in the market town of Penrith (7 miles) for a night off from the kitchen and a delicious bite to eat.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
