It also boasts its own private hot tub, a perfect spot to admire your picturesque surroundings.

Converted from the village's brewing house, this charming cottage is brimming with traditional features, which cleverly combine with many modern touches. Leave muddy boots in the handmade oak porch before arriving in the characterful kitchen/diner. This well-equipped and spacious room has a contemporary yet traditional feel and is perfect for whipping up a cosy meal for two, which can be enjoyed at the table as you take in the lovely views across the village. Fire up the wood burner and settle down on the comfortable sofa for a cosy night in, in the lounge. The wet room with shower is also on the ground floor. Head up the oak staircase and sink under the covers in the welcoming bedroom, which also has an armchair in the eaves. Soothe tired muscles in the wood-fired hot tub in your private courtyard, which is perfect for spotting stars and unwinding.

Stroll to your local pub, which is within walking distance of the cottage, while shops are 5 miles away. Venture into the Lake District National Park where there are endless walks and cycling routes to be found. Ullswater (17.5 miles) has many trails to follow and mountains to climb, as well as boat trips across the water. The market town of Kendal (21.5 miles), home to the famous mint cake, is great for a day of shopping, museums and exploring.
