We had an excellent holiday at The Briars. The open plan living space is brilliant for families and our party of 6 adults, 1 infant and 2 dogs really felt at home. The bedrooms are all a good size and all had their own bathroom which was great. The downstairs entrance hall swallowed up our coats, boots, rucksacks, baby carrier and bike with ease. This was a great stay for our family. We went with our children aged 1, 4 and 9, my partners brother and parents. It was in a great location close to hawkeshead with a lovely walk down through the fields. The Briars is located in a lovely position at Roger Ground, Hawkshead. The facilities are good and the place is spacious. Beautiful views in the morning with the large windows in the living space. Recently refurbished bathrooms, main bathroom was large enough to bath 2 kids at the same time. Fully kitted kitchen and a handy utility room. The location was great for walks down to the main village, to Wray Castle and to Grizedale Forest.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
