Ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead is a thriving village, offering a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is the home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

On this floor there is a comfy single bedroom and a shower room with WC. Moving up to the top floor you will find the master bedroom – a spacious, vaulted room with exposed stone wall and beams. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Judges Lodging - a fascinating conversion with lots of character and very comfortable. The village of Hawkshead is delightful and we were pleased wed chosen to be there rather than in a larger location.

The Judge's Lodging is perfectly situated minutes from the Co-op (with free cashpoint) and Post Office. The ground floor kitchen/dining room is particularly roomy and, having a stone floor, means you don't have to worry if you come in with wet feet (it is the Lake District after all). Having three toilets is also very handy!

Just returned from a 5 day break here and have to say the cottage was fabulous. Fantastic location in the heart of the village whilst being quiet too. Beautifully appointed and cosy , we especially loved the country stone floored kitchen. Whilst not being any problem for us some may find the number of stairs an issue with the layout being over 3 flRead moreoors. That said we have come home and booked again straight away for the same time next year !! Hide

I have to say that our visit last week was just as good as the other two stays. The introduction of a welcome pack was a nice touch. We did have a light fail in the kitchen but as usual the Hideways staff fixed the problem for us immediately. In summary it's a good place to stay at a very good price.
