A first-floor apartment in the thriving town of Cockermouth, with a great selection of local amenities on the doorstep.

Situated in the pretty town of Cockermouth – the birthplace of William Wordsworth – this apartment is the perfect base to explore the northern Lake District and western fells. It has the added benefit of having restaurants and bars within 1 mile, where you can enjoy a romantic meal or a few drinks out after a day of exploring. The shore path at Bassenthwaite is just 6 miles away and runs the length of the west shore. Keswick is only 14 miles away and hosts the popular Mountain Festival annually with some world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films, as well as live music. Whinlatter Forest is only 7 miles away – why not visit Go Ape or hire bikes and explore the forest trails? For something a little different, walk an alpaca or abseil 120ft into a disused quarry.

As you enter the property through its private entrance, you will find coat and boot storage just inside the front door. Head up the stairs to the first floor and you will find a bright and spacious lounge with views over the high street. This room has high ceilings with lovely feature beams and a Smart TV where you can catch up on your favourite series after a day out exploring. Next door, you will find the kitchen which is well-equipped with an electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a dining table in the kitchen where you can enjoy breakfast before heading out to explore. Head back into the hallway and up the stairs to the second floor; here, you will find a pretty double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

There is restricted on-street parking directly outside the property for you to unload, with a car park 350 metres away or unrestricted parking in other areas of the town.

Nice comfortably property. Kitchen was big, and had all the utensils that you would need. The only problem was parking the car. Would not recommend this property for disabled, as it has 2 flights of stairs.

Great property - very clean and well equipped, larger than expected, and excellent value for money! We were here for a relaxed budget trip and it was perfect. Location is great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. Most excursions we did were ~30 mins drive (eg lots round Keswick). Parking - used the YourParkingSpace app for Wilko carpark. Town View is an amazing apartment very well located on the high street, above a bakers, opposite a really good pub The Bush Inn and close access to all local shops, bars, and restaurants. Parking initially was looking to be an issue but if you use the parking app (Your Parking Space) you can book the Wilkos car park for all week, it cost around 36 Read morefor the week and you can come and go as you please. Directly in the heart of cockermouth, this cottage offers good value for the money. You can reach everything by foot, nice pubs just over the street. Expect some noise though (music from pubs and traffic - it's main Street). We didn't mind at all.

Everything went smoothly from arrival to departure. Apartment is in a great location in the heart of Cockermouth and had everything we needed. Not much more I can say, everything was top class and it was clear the owners have done everything they can to make it a great place to stop..

The property is on a busy street. A bus stops right outside the door if you don't feel like driving. The flat is extremely clean and spacious. In fact it's much bigger than the flat that I live in.There is a well equipped kitchen with everything that you need.The only thing that is lacking is parking space . The apartment and Cockermouth was lovely. Parking was a little difficult and as it was a bank holiday the pubs across the street where a little noisy but it was all good humoured and everyone in Cockermouth was lovely. The Cottage has all the items you need. No unnecessary objects standing around. I appreciated a lot that the Kettle has been nice and very clean. The WiFi worked perfectly in the hole Cottage.

First do Prebook using my parking space app. Wilkos car park is just through cut across road after you have unloaded your gear. Lovely spacious very clean accommodation. We usually do cottages but we love Cockermouth town so tried it ! Love it! Pubs/food places esp The Bush are absolutely lovely people & customers . Nice stay. Lots of places to get out and see in Cockermouth. Also great that you have both the coast to visit and the Lake District. Two holidays in one. Best parking we found was a 5 to 10 minute walk away at the Sullart Street car park. You can park overnight for 6+ a day and it's easily renewable on the parking app. Added +45 to stay. FAO for doRead moreg owners. There is no green area nearby, it's a 5 to 10 minute walk to the nearest patch of grass, some dogs only go on grass. Bit annoying at 5 am. Hide

Lovely accommodation and a great location too. The dogs loved it there too. Close to the river and central to the town. Great location to access the lakes, coast and beautiful countryside. Loved it, will definitely go back again!!

Great quality accommodation, can't fault it, location perfect, right in middle of Cockermouth. We visited over Jubilee weekend, lots of celebration and music but this apartment was lovely and quiet inside. Deceptive from outside, spacious and roomy inside. Furnished to a very high standard. Well happy here, thankyou so very much.
