Our extended family enjoyed a week here very much, in this beautiful house. Very comfortable, and nothing not thought of. Hosts were very welcoming but discreet, living next door. Enjoyed closeness to Loweswater, and Buttermere. Managed a mural-generational, challenging walk up Rannerdale Knotts (highly recommended). Would love to return!

Wow what an amazing house to stay in! Fantastic location, close to the Fells and a short drive to the coast. Anne and Gordon were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us. Ullock Mains is idyllic. The house is spacious & really well furnished. We have stayed in many holiday rentals but none of them have felt anywhere near as homely. The bedrooms are all of a great size & comfortable, every room has the most incredible outlook, either over the garden & surrounding countryside or the pretty hamlet. The village pub in DRead moreean is a short walk away along quiet lanes & is perfect for your first night. The owners are delightful & extremely helpful without being intrusive. Hide

This cottage is new to rent for 2020 and I would absolutely give it a 5 star review. It has been beautifully decorated and furnished to create a sophisticated country cottage ambiance. Anne and Gordon were very welcoming and helpful always available with advice about the local area and walks. I would not hesitate to return.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
