Slightly further afield, Catbells (5 miles) is a moderate climb rewarded with more panoramic views. Climb the external staircase to reach this first-floor apartment. Greeted by the open-plan living space, admire the characterful, exposed beams and stylish decor before settling down on the inviting sofa. Light the wood burner and watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV and enjoy a relaxing evening. Delve into one of the books for some peace and quiet and plan your next adventure. Absolutely perfect for a couple visiting the Lakes. Excellent facilities, cosy log burner, right in the centre of Keswick, with parking. Warm, friendly and accommodating hosts. My integrity means that I'm bound to highly recommend it but my selfishness really wants everyone to avoid it so that it's available next time we visit.

Situated centrally, very close to the local pubs & restaurants but at the same time still very quiet, very welcoming hosts too, thank you. It was our first visit, but wont be our last! The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
