Stroll 2 miles above the bustling town of Keswick to Castlerigg Stone Circle to stretch your legs and take in amazing views. Slightly further afield, Catbells (5 miles) is a moderate climb rewarded with more panoramic views. Explore Derwentwater by boarding a cruise from the local marina or hire your own boats or paddleboards and make a splash. If the rain interrupts your stay, Keswick has an interesting pair of museums, climbing wall and a cinema to keep you entertained. For a wonderful night out, leave the car behind and book a table at an eatery in town before watching a show at the Theatre by the Lake (less than half a mile from this retreat).

Climb the external staircase to reach this first-floor apartment. Greeted by the open-plan living space, admire the characterful, exposed beams and stylish decor before settling down on the inviting sofa. Light the wood burner and watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV and enjoy a relaxing evening. Delve into one of the books for some peace and quiet and plan your next adventure. The kitchen area is equipped with a double electric oven, a slimline dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The spacious king-size bedroom has an ornamental fireplace and boasts views across to Catbells. There is also a shower room with WC.

Sip your morning coffee alfresco or enjoy meals on the roof terrace which has outdoor furniture, please take care and do not go near the edge. There is designated parking for one car which is accessed via an archway.

Wainwrights Loft is a perfect place to stay in Keswick. It is a short walk to the Main street and not far to Derwentwater itself. It has all the comforts of home and everything you need in the kitchen. The hosts are friendly, helpful and welcoming and are nearby to deal with any problems. A wonderful place to stay. Wainwrights Loft is perfect as a holiday home. Fantastic location in Keswick and wonderful owners Heather and Alan whom want you to enjoy their place. Very clean and plenty of warm water from the shower just perfect after a long walk. We will certainly be back. Paul and Anna

Heather and Alan are great hosts and very accommodating. The flat was very central just a two minute walk to the centre of town and was spotless and well equipped with a lovely roof top area for sitting outside. We look forward to a return visit.

A lovely cosy place for 2 people. Hidden away and very quiet but convenient for all the shops etc. Lots of thoughtful touches - personalised bottle of wine and a copy of the owners book on Lakeland trees. We stayed in mid January and the flat was warm and comfortable. Beautiful bedroom with a large very comfortable bed. Absolutely perfect for a couple visiting the Lakes. Excellent facilities, cosy log burner, right in the centre of Keswick, with parking. Warm, friendly and accommodating hosts. My integrity means that I'm bound to highly recommend it but my selfishness really wants everyone to avoid it so that it's available next time we visit.

Just returned from a fabulous weekend in Wainwrights Loft. Beautiful, cosy apartment, extremely comfortable bed & sofa, & a fantastic welcome pack on our arrival. Situated centrally, very close to the local pubs & restaurants but at the same time still very quiet, very welcoming hosts too, thank you. It was our first visit, but wont be our last!
