Beautiful property and grounds Comfortable bed and shower was hot and powerful. Really liked the location. Very central and easy to get to all the important sights. A short distance from Hawkshead where there are several pubs doing great food and there is a co-op for all the essentials. The Outgate Inn is a 10 minute walk down the lanes. It's on a working farm, so Joy abounds, quite literally, in lambing season.

Fabulous cottage in a great location. The storage heating system does appear to struggle to warm such a big open plan space, but luckily there was an additional portable heater in the pantry. There is a plentiful supply of logs for the fire included, but I would recommend bringing firelighters or firelogs to get fire started.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
