The house had very good facilities, everything that you could need for a self catering holiday. Very clean and tidy, comfortable sofas, great shower and a sink in the main bedroom which was a bonus. Very large garage, secure parking for two cars in Bowness is very unusual and saves worrying about where to park. Lovely views from the balcony with chRead moreairs and table provided. Just a five minute walk to all the shops (Tesco, COOP, eat in / take out restaurants, pubs etc), ideal location we think. A++ Hide

A very nice, overall well equipped comfortable property, well located for the town. The views are superb from the property overlooking the lake, thanks to the floor to ceiling windows/sliding doors and balcony. The weather was unusually warm and sunny for the time of year, resulting in some fabulous walks. A very memorable week in the Lakes.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
