Apartment for two, situated on the ground floor of the owner’s property, with views across the Esthwaite Valley, close to some Hawkshead, Claife Heights and Lake Windermere.

This charming cottage is located in the hamlet of Rogerground, which is just a short walk from Hawkshead, one of the prettiest villages in the Lake District. Ideally situated between Coniston Water and Lake Windermere, Hawkshead is a thriving village, offering a great selection of tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, and is the home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery. Close by is Esthwaite Water, a stunning fishing lake which also inspired Wordsworth. Coniston, Grizedale, Langdale, Grasmere and Ambleside are all within easy reach, and the busy centres of Windermere and Bowness are just a short ferry ride away. With breath-taking scenery and activities for the whole family, this idyllic spot guarantees a memorable holiday.

Steps lead down to this lovely ground-floor apartment, which forms part of the owner’s home, you will find yourself in the attractive and light kitchen which is well-equipped with everything you might need including microwave, electric oven and halogen hob, fridge with freezer compartment and washing machine. Exploring further, you will find the bright and airy lounge/diner, which has an electric coal-effect fire and TV. The dining area is ideally situated, and offers a beautiful countryside view across the Esthwaite vale through a large picture window. You will also find a king-size bed; which can be split into twin beds upon request, and there are patio doors which lead out onto a private area to the side of the property. The bathroom is complete with walk in shower and WC.

Stepping outside you will find a large shared patio and lawn with garden furniture and lovely views across the countryside. There is also a sunny private patio to the side of the property for sole use of guests, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day walking or exploring the Lakes and surrounding villages. There is ample off-road parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The garden was a delight and secure for our dog . The 15 minute walk into Hawkshead village on a path through the fields was charming . Walking from the door is a huge bonus and we found a small pack of 5 walks starting from the grammar school near the church.Not having to use the car to start a walk is a real plus.The village shops and pubs providRead moreed everything we needed . Maybe as its coming to the end of the season but we felt the cottage was looking a little tired. That said we had a really relaxing week in the cottage, enjoyed the beautiful view across the fields and the easy fifteen minute walk into Hawkshead.

Beautiful views across the garden to the hills, I've never washed dishes and looked at sheep so close! Amazing view. Very comfortable, shower was great and the bed is huge. Easy access to the Lakes and short walk to beautiful village of Hawkshead.

This holiday flat is brilliant and I would return again without hesitation. Everything is catered for at the property. It has a lovely secure garden, perfect for our. The Welcome/Information booklet was extremely useful, especially as we had to use a vets and the contacts etc. was provided. The location is outstanding. Its lovely and quiet, so peacRead moreeful. We've just returned from a lovely week at Woody's Nook. A very peaceful location, ideally situated for all the South Lakes and a for a great day out to the North Lakes. Garden was perfect for our dog - he fell in love with it and never wanted to be inside! The 10 min walk into Hawkshead meant that we had the convenience of Shops, Pubs & Cafes withoRead moreut the need for a car. Woody's Nook is an ideal location to explore the Hawkshead area as it is a very easy walk down into the village and then on to several circular walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and it was great not to have to get into the car every day but simply to set off on foot. Fantastic location with plenty of great walks for our four legged babies, only ten minute walk into Hawkshead via a footpath through sheep fields. Comfy and cozy property with great view over the back garden and fields. Good facilities especially the bathroom which was spacious and modern. Would definitely recommend for walking holiday.

Lovely cosy warm cottage. Hawkshead village easily walk-able and lovely walks right on the doorstep. Safe secure garden for the dog. Nice big bed which was very comfy and modern bathroom with excellent shower. Well equipped kitchen.

A hidden gem . Lovely views , peaceful setting and cosy accommodation. Woody's Nook was a revelation. We have stayed many times in the area but from here had the chance to explore new footpaths . The accommodation was of a good standard , clean and warm. The owners were helpful and welcoming ...cake on arrival! We will certainly be returning.

The location of the cottage is perfect as it is only a short walk into Hawkshead across a well worn path over the fields. The cottage has everything you need and has one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in. Views from the living area looking out over the garden and beyond were simply outstanding! Would definitely love to return here!

After collecting key from the office in Hawkshead we found the house easily down a short driveway,with allocated parking. The apartment was clean and well equipped with all needs catered for.Pleasant garden and quiet surroundings , ideal . Sky TV worked as needed and so did WIFI but it was a bit slow in use. Good location for days out to variousRead more places ,but some of the local roads are narrow with passing places,like to Tarn Hows a small lake but had a good walk around when we were there.Quiet and relaxing in the sunshine.
