Enjoying a superb rural location with views across to Esthwaite Water, this attractive garden apartment is the ideal retreat for a romantic break away. Two dogs are also welcome and with some fantastic scenic walks from the front door, this is the perfect choice if you’re planning to get out and explore on foot. With some super pubs and shops in nearby Hawkshead, less than a mile away, you’ll find everything you need on the doorstep.

Situated on the ground floor of the owner’s property in the hamlet of Roger Ground, this pretty apartment is both warm and inviting. Steps lead down to the property, where you’ll enter to find a cosy lounge/diner which enjoys some fantastic views across the valley. After a tiring day of exploring, snuggle up on the comfortable sofa and watch a film while the electric fire keeps you warm. Whether you’re whipping up a tasty snack or a sit-down meal, the sunny kitchen has everything to hand that you’ll need. Wake up from a restful sleep in the inviting bedroom and step outside the French doors into your private patio area and take in the morning with a coffee. Guests are welcome to use the owner’s gardens too, where you’ll find a seating area and a BBQ.

Stroll into Hawkshead, famed for its connections to Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, and relax in one of its many tearooms or pubs. Whether you’re in the mood for a hike, a cycle or trying out a new sport on the water, head to Lake Windermere (5.5 miles) and Coniston Water (5.5 miles) which have plenty on offer. Those looking for a more challenging hike will love climbing The Old Man of Coniston, 5.5 miles away.

A lovely place to stay in a beautiful location with the village and some great walks a stones throw from the cottage, I didnt need to use my car once while I was there. The secure dog friendly garden is perfect! The owners are so friendly and accommodating, Ill definitely look to visit again.

The cottage was perfectly situated for exploring the Lakes. The gardens are beautifully kept and a pleasure to sit in and look out on. The owners were fantastic - approachable and pleasant.....when we had a small issue, he immediately rectified it without a fuss. Thank you.

We would recommend this cottage for its position in the countryside close to the village of Hawkshead with wonderful views from the lounge window. There were so many birds to watch in the garden feeding from the many bird feeders. The cottage itself was very comfortable especially the bed and the kitchen was well equipped. Had a very comfortable three night stay. Good facilities and lovely sunny garden with views over fields and lake. Within easy 10 minute walk from Hawkshead and associated shops, pubs and cafes.

If you are looking for beautiful scenery comfortable chairs and a unbelievable bed, then this is for you. All the everyday luxury you would expect.the hospitality of the owners was above and beyond. wildlife in abundance, several different species of birds and Pheasants on the garden.

Property is in excellent location, lovely 10minutes walk into Hawkshead and very peaceful. Access by road is tricky due to very narrow lane but plenty opportunities for walking from the property. Woodys Nook is ideal for one or two people and is well equipped (except no oven glove). The garden is great for dogs and mine loved it. One slight drawbacRead morek with being ground floor apartment is that you can hear the owners walking around upstairs and it took my dog a few days to not bark at this noise. Hide

A perfect little jewel to explore The Lake District from, especially if like us if you have a dog. The owners who are attached upstairs are very polite, friendly & accommodating.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Owners were very friendly and just let you get on with things. House itself was everything we needed and the garden was ideal for our dog- and a great sun trap!! Ideal location for discovering Coniston/Hawkshead/Grizedale area of the Lakes. Some great walks from Hawkshead which was only a half-mile walk away. Woodys Nook is a lovely cottage which offers all you could need for a week in the Lakes. It is a lovely walk into Hawkshead which has all you need and the owners who love upstairs made you feel very welcome. The dogs loved the garden and settled straight away which was great. Recommended and would certainly use again if we visited the Lakes.

The garden was a delight and secure for our dog . The 15 minute walk into Hawkshead village on a path through the fields was charming . Maybe as its coming to the end of the season but we felt the cottage was looking a little tired. That said we had a really relaxing week in the cottage, enjoyed the beautiful view across the fields and the easy fifteen minute walk into Hawkshead.

Beautiful views across the garden to the hills, I've never washed dishes and looked at sheep so close! Amazing view. Very comfortable, shower was great and the bed is huge. Easy access to the Lakes and short walk to beautiful village of Hawkshead.

This holiday flat is brilliant and I would return again without hesitation. Everything is catered for at the property. It has a lovely secure garden, perfect for our. We've just returned from a lovely week at Woody's Nook. A very peaceful location, ideally situated for all the South Lakes and a for a great day out to the North Lakes. Garden was perfect for our dog - he fell in love with it and never wanted to be inside!
