The cottage is immaculate and well equipped. The location is fabulous and the views are amazing. If the hill is too much then a taxi into Windermere is just 3.50. We stayed 4 nights and had my 89 year old mum with us. She uses a walking frame and the cottage was perfect for her to get around. There's nothing not to like about this property/locationRead more. I highly recommend it. Hide

Thanks to Sally's Cottages for helping us find the perfect cottage for 3 generations of guests. Yew Trees was perfect in every way. The cottage was very well equipped and we particularly appreciated the maps (having forgotten ours) and small containers for our packed lunch. Would definitely stay there again.

The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
