Self-catering holiday cottages in the Eden Valley
With the dramatic landscape of the Pennines to the east and the breathtaking Lake District to the west, Eden Valley is a great location to stay in a holiday cottage. The valley is rich in natural beauty, with nearby majestic mountains, tranquil lakes and lush green countryside for you to immerse yourselves in. With lots of self-catering accommodation to choose from, you can decide whether you need a large, spacious family house or a quintessentially English cottage for two. Wherever you stay and whoever you’re with, you’re bound to enjoy the range of outdoors sports on offer, such as walking, climbing, canoeing and fishing, to name but a few.
Eden Valley cottages occupy convenient locations, allowing guests to explore the Howgill Fells to the south, where there is an abundance of walking trails and routes. You’re also close to the dizzy heights of Helvellyn and Scafell Pike and the picturesque lake of Ullswater with its Victorian Steamers. If it’s fishing you’re after, the River Eden guarantees some of the finest salmon and trout fishing in northern England. If you’d prefer a leisurely approach to soaking up the scenery, hop aboard a train from Carlisle to Settle, which is one of the most scenic lines in England and runs through Eden Valley. If you’re holiday cottage is not in one of the main towns/villages of Penrith, Kirkby Stephen or Brough, still be sure to visit these intriguing little towns with their wealth of shops and eateries.
