Perched on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park and close to the Solway Coast AONB (17 miles), you won’t be short of places to explore across both coast and countryside. Sleeping four, and your four-legged family member, escape to this abode with loved ones and embark on a holiday to remember. With far-reaching views and a warming wood burner, enjoy returning home to creature comforts after days spent outside.
Hang coats by the door and head into the fabulous open-plan living space where the kitchen, lounge and diner create a wonderful communal space. The open-plan design is great for keeping an eye on the whereabouts of canines and little ones whilst unwinding in front of the TV/DVD or cooking up a storm. Enjoy the views from the kitchen as you prepare meals, with handy island space for cooking up a storm. Serve up snacks at the table or head outside to dine alfresco on the decking. Wall to wall windows in the lounge boast stunning views across the Caldbeck Valley, tempting you outside to explore; however, with the wood burner roaring and tails and toes staying warm, you’ll find it hard to leave the comfort of the sofa once you’ve snuggled up. Two bedrooms also boast fantastic views, one has an en-suite shower room and there is an additional family shower room. There is off-road parking for two cars.
For panoramic, peak-top spots, travel 8.5 miles south and summit the peaks of High Pike and Carrock Fell. Or travel slightly further and visit Bassenthwaite Lake (19.5 miles), where waterside wanders and a plethora of wildlife await. Wander 2.5 miles to the village of Caldbeck where you can stock up on treats, and pass The Howk, a limestone gorge with pretty waterfalls. For a day by the coast, enjoy a family-friendly walk in an area steeped in local history, and head 18 miles to Grune Point on the Solway Coast AONB.
