With walks straight from your door and a wood burner waiting for you on your return, escape to the magical Lake District and feel right at home. Sleeping four and your trustworthy pup, this lodge boasts floor to ceiling windows so you can stay warm whilst enjoying valley views. Fantastic open-plan living space caters perfectly for lazy mornings gathered with a cup of tea, and sociable evenings with a tipple in hand.
With so many places to explore, you’re bound to return home with muddy boots and paws. The lobby area is perfect for leaving these behind and is a great place to towel off soggy fur to keep the living space cosy and clean. Boasting terrific views, the open-plan living space consists of a kitchen, lounge and dining area so you can cook, dine and chill together. Comfortable sofas are perfectly arranged around the warming wood burner, put your feet up and move only to choose a DVD or to top up your mug. For sundowner evenings, take plates and glasses outside and dine alfresco on the decking, admiring the breathtaking views and spectacular sunsets. Two bedrooms offer more gorgeous views and are tranquil rooms in which to drift off and dream. Whilst the king-size bedroom is treated to an en-suite shower room, the family shower room completes this single-storey abode so you can enjoy a refreshing shower to wake you up, and a hot shower to soothe aching muscles after long days out and about. There is off-road parking for two cars.
Lace up your hiking boots, pack a picnic and throw on a lead, and walk towards the local village of Caldbeck (2.5 miles), admiring the tumbling waterfalls at The Howk, and the ruins of Bobbin Mill. For magnificent views and a sky-high stick chew, summit High Pike and Carrock Fell, both within an 8.5-mile radius of your front door. If the brave ones among you fancy a refreshing, revitalising wild swim, make the 19.5-mile trip to Bassenthwaite Lake which sits at the foot of the stunning Skiddaw fells.
