Just 2 miles from Bassenthwaite and 6 miles from Derwentwater, you can enjoy kayaking or canoeing on your break. Located just 5 miles from Cat Bells and with Skiddaw on your doorstep, it is a great location for walking – Dodd Wood is only 1.5 miles away, where you can enjoy a network of walking trails that lead to the summit of Dodd Fell for spectacular views across the lake. Explore the North Lakes on foot, by car or even hop on a bus, this is the perfect location. Whinlatter Forest Park just 5 miles away, enjoy the mountain bike trails and look out for the local wildlife! Take a boat across Derwentwater and treat yourself to a meal at one of the local dog-friendly pubs or visit the Theatre by the Lake (6 miles) and take in a show.

Enter this charming holiday retreat and feel right at home, it’s a great base for exploring the stunning Lake District. There are three properties inside this building and the communal hallway is bright and spacious. The front door to this holiday home is set just at the back of the hallway. The property has a bathroom off the entrance hall and the wonderful, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner opposite. There is access out onto the private patio from the lounge through French doors, with views over the open countryside and down towards Bassenthwaite Lake. Head up the stairs to the first floor and you will find three comfortable bedrooms and a family bathroom. Each of the traditional, pretty bedrooms have views over the countryside or woodland so you can soak in your destination from the comfort of bed.

There is a private patio with seating to the front of the cottage – make the most of summer evenings out here, and enjoy a good book or glass of wine.
