There are plenty of attractions and landmarks in the immediate area, including the Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, Threlkeld Quarry Railway, Keswick Golf Club and some wonderful walks and bike trails. Also nearby are the Aira Force Waterfall near Ullswater, and Mirehouse and Gardens on the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake (both within 10 miles). The bustling town of Keswick (4 miles) sits at the northern tip of Derwentwater and is home to the Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Adventure Centre and Puzzling Place.
