We loved our stay at Little Greendale - the location was absolutely perfect and the cottage was warm and cosy and just what we needed it to be! We loved exploring around Wast Water and the folder the owners left with recommendations was super helpful!! We visited the Strand and Screes Microbrewery on a sunny day and it was great - my boyfriend was Read morevery impressed with the selection of local beers. The internet was patchy at times but thats to be expected - on the whole it was actually way better than we thought it would be and we managed to stream things just fine for the most part. Overall Little Greendale was exactly what we needed for a lovely 5 days away in the Lakes and have came home feeling very refreshed!! We will be back!! :) Hide

A lovely small cottage in the hamlet of Greendale. Loved the quiet and remote location giving easy access to nearby fells. The cottage had everything I needed. Have to admit I left the sofa bed set up all week, as it was still perfect for watching TV. FreeSat worked very well, but the WiFi seemed somewhat flaky. It wasn't a problem, as I was able tRead moreo pick up 4G, even if it was sometimes a little slow. One to note - Budgens in Gosforth is currently closed. Nearest shops 12 miles away. Hide

Ideal location for exploring the Wasdale Valley. Being so close to the lake in a quiet location was just what was needed to recharge the batteries. The sofa bed was comfy & as a solo visitor I found it easier to leave it out for my stay. The cottage is small but well planned with a well equipped kitchen. There are plenty of walks from the door or aRead more short drive. Loved the walk up Irton Fell to Whinn Rigg. I'd also recommend breakfast at the Sawmill cafe. Hide

Accommodation overall was ideal and location superb but points to note. There was no washing up cloths so had to go and buy some on second day and the floor was not very clean but there was no mop or floor cleaner to do this. Hence not giving 5 stars for cleanliness and equipment.

The location is stunning with the view out of the garden of Middle Fell. The cottage is a converted barn, so space is a little limited, as would be expected. However, it is really nicely decorated and is very cosy/romantic/bijou!! The bathroom is nicely laid out and the shower / bath is brilliant, especially after a days walking! There are some nicRead moree pubs within 15 minutes drive. We would definitely recommend this cottage and we plan to return again. Hide

Another great stay here! Cosy with all you need for your holiday other than an iron/ironing board. On this stay however on the Tuesday we were still in bed admiring the stunning views with the blinds up & the man with new laundry for the cottage next door, walked through our garden to get to theirs, which was embarrassing & unnecessary - why he didRead morent go direct to next doors main entrance I dont know?! Stunning outlook, totally worth it for walkers as numerous paths from outside the door. As an arthritis sufferer, the sofa bed was uncomfortable & I struggled after a week. Quiet location where you can switch off.
