This spectacular four-bedroom barn conversion enjoys a secluded location and stunning views, just half a mile from the shores of Lake Ullswater. Accommodating up to eight guests in spacious surroundings, this is the perfect retreat for a special occasion or getaway with friends and family. It’s also an ideal choice for keen hikers and walkers.

From the moment you walk in, the sheer size of this former Lakeland barn will take your breath away. Tasteful decor and sumptuous furnishings combine with many traditional touches to create a really welcoming home. The large and attractive farmhouse-style kitchen will be an exciting sight for the budding chefs in the group, while the dining table is a relaxed spot for a group breakfast. More formal meals can be enjoyed in the central hall, with its pitched and beamed ceiling and a large table. In the elegant lounge, sit back and relax together while the open fire crackles away, while younger guests will love escaping to the additional snug room downstairs, with its comfortable sofas and large TV. Four inviting bedrooms are also to be found on the lower floor, each with their own style and restful design. Two are en-suite, while the two twin bedrooms share a bathroom. Allow the kids to explore the terraced patios and lawns which surround the property, while you sit back, take in the views and enjoy a drink at sunset.

Ullswater is the second largest lake in the Lake District and much of its shore and surrounding fells are accessible for visitors to explore. For a more challenging day, head to Grenridding (7 miles) which is a popular starting point for walkers and climbers going up Helvellyn, England’s third-highest mountain. Take a wander around the shops, museums and restaurants in popular Keswick, 15.5 miles away.

Bank Barn is simply one of the best holiday houses that we have ever stayed in. Located high above Ullswater with beautiful views across the lake the Barn is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped and the interior decoration and furnishings are both interesting and functional. There is plenty to do locally with a water sports centre a couple of mRead moreiles away & its only a few minutes drive from the start of the best Hellvellyn walks. Overall, a terrific place to stay. Bank Barn is a very lovely house, situated in a beautiful area. The view from Bank Barn is amazing overlooking Ulswater. The house is kitted out to a high standard, with the bathrooms to a luxury standard. The kitchen is also well equipped to enable proper meals to be cooked. This is our fifth year staying at Bank Barn, and once again we had a wonderful holiday! This is an outstanding property, beautifully furnished and equipped and set in an amazing part of the world. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is a beautiful home in a fabulous location with a stunning view. The house was clean and spacious and every precaution, including gloves, plenty of hand sanitizer and cleaning cloths, had been taken to enable us to keep it that way. The rooms are welcoming and the kitchen is well-equipped. Supermarkets are a short drive away and we had numerouRead mores lovely walks and cycles on our doorstep. Photos dont do this home justice It is not only a stunning location but the house really is 5 star plus Everything is well thought out and extremely well equipped 10 min walk to Brakenrigg pub or 40 mins to Dacre ( really nice food ) We will be back

An outstanding property. Attention to detail is everywhere. Kitchen is huge and extensively equipped. Living room is very comfy with a lovely log fireplace. Make sure you do a big food shop before you arrive because nearest shops are in Penrith 20 minutes away. If I had deep pockets I would stay here every year. You won't want to leave.
