Lovely and comfortable, we enjoyed our stay. I've put good for location as Cockermouth isn't as pretty as some other towns e.g. Ambleside. Very central. The owner was responsive when Netflix needed an installation code (the code provided worked fine). Great kitchen facilities and some thoughtful touches, e.g. dog bowls and beds, leaflets and tips fRead moreor restaurants. Predeparture email said dogs can't go upstairs, difficult to enforce as there were no doors, we would suggest a baby gate. Hide

We would definitely stay again due to the location with it being not far to shops, pubs etc and easy to get to other towns. The cottage is very well equipped and the bottle of wine was a nice touch too.

Very central location. There were no parking spots but we parked up the hill on a little side street for free. The Lake District National Park is a superb choice for a holiday. If you love nature and the great outdoors, the Lake District is one of the UK’s most beautiful holiday destinations. Taking up the lion’s share of the north-western county of Cumbria, the region has been popular with visitors since Victorian times, and it’s the only place to find mountains in England. Peace and tranquillity characterise the wonderful Lake District, with 16 lakes, including England’s longest and deepest, there is much to see and do. Visit Coniston Water, Ullswater, Wast Water and Windermere for just a taste of what you can see in the Lake District National Park.

Small towns like Ambleside, Windermere, Hawkshead, Bowness-on-Windermere and Glenridding all make for great bases from which to relax and unwind between sojourns into the fantastic natural landscapes of the Lake District National Park. Wildlife and bird lovers can spot all kinds of lesser spotted species in situ, and walking trails reveal some of the very best vistas within English borders. To embellish the experience, you can enjoy some of the country’s cosiest pubs and restaurants, many found in picture-perfect locations.
