Quirky Cottage is easily accessible from the A6 where you can park on the pavement just outside the front door. As you enter this pretty cottage, the age and character of this property cannot go unnoticed. There is storage for coats and shoes as you come through the front door and, as you enter the open-plan lounge and dining area, you will find original beams, a stunning wooden floor and a sandstone fireplace with a cosy wood burner and ambient lighting. Relax on the comfortable corner sofa, catch up on your favourite film or series on the Smart TV after a day out exploring, or read a good book in front of the fire. There is a stylish dining area that offers a great space to make plans for your days ahead over dinner or breakfast. Stepping down one step from the lounge area, you will find yourself in the hallway. Next, there is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric hob and oven, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and fridge with a freezer compartment and a microwave. Access to the enclosed garden is from the kitchen. Across the hallway, you will find a useful cloakroom/drying room ideal to dry off coats and walking gear. Heading up the staircase to the first floor, you will find a lovely snug area at the top of the landing with a stylish armchair with views out across the field to the rear of the property. If you want somewhere to escape and enjoy a good book, then this is the perfect spot. Also, on the first floor, you will find two bedrooms. Had a wonderful stay. We had a cosy stay would highly recommend booking this cosy cottage. The hot tub was a super addition to the stay and what a way to relax after a hike. The bed is super comfy and considering how old the property is, the place was warm the whole time. It was the perfect stay for our birthdays.

A great base for the Lakes, no question. But I wouldn't have booked if I'd known it was on the A6. And I also feel that the photos are a bit deceptive in terms of the amount of space overall. Other guests have been very pleased so I'm sorry to be less so but this didn't quite live up to expectations.
