Stylish Lakeland cottage situated amongst spectacular scenery by the shores of Coniston Water. A special retreat for both relaxing and exploring the magnificent Lake District National Park.

Situated on a small country estate on the north-eastern shore of Coniston Water, this delightful stone cottage enjoys a wonderful location ideal for walking, biking and water sports. It sleeps up to four people and one dog, making it perfect for couples or small families looking for a relaxing break. Guests also benefit from access to the estate’s private lake shoreline and extensive shared grounds, while local pubs and shops are 1.5 miles away.

This charming property shares a courtyard with four other holiday homes and was once an 18th-century stable. It’s been sympathetically modernised and is contemporary yet homely. The open-plan living space has a stylish feel, with comfortable sofas centred around a cosy wood burner, which are perfect for curling up on. The sleek kitchen area has been designed to meet all your culinary needs, while the dining table can seat all your guests for sociable meals and snacks. Stairs lead from the kitchen to a charming double bedroom which takes in wonderful views of the lake, while the twin is equally welcoming at the end of the day. The bathroom is also to be found on this level. Relax outside in your small walled garden while you prepare for some al fresco dining as the kids and dog play.

Walk through the grounds and down to the estate’s lakeshore area, which is great for picnics and paddling. Jetties are available too, if you’re bringing your own boat. Coniston Water is ideal for water sports enthusiasts with equipment for hire at the nearby boating centre. For a family day out with sculpture trails, Segway riding and woodland walks, Grizedale Forest (6 miles) is a must. Head to Hawkshead (3 miles) for a wander around the shops and a visit to the Beatrix Potter Gallery.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This was a fantastic base for a few days enjoying the beauty of the Lake District, the cottage was well decorated, clean, homely and equipped with everything we needed. We were fortunate enough to meet the owners and what kind, friendly, helpful people they were. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone with is stunning views across ConistoRead moren Waters. This cottage can only be described as 5*. My husband and I have stayed in dog friendly cottages all over the UK but by far this was My favourite. We arrived in the dark which was disappointing but then waking up the next morning to the stunning views was a real treat! The kitchen was very thoughtfully stocked. Excellent location, nice and quiet as long as the guests in the other cottages are not rowdy! Lake at the bottom of the field behind the property. The cottage had everything we needed including weighing scales and a garlic crusher. The owner came in and plunged the plugholes very soon after we reported slow drainage.

Really enjoyed our stay at Tent Lodge Cottage its in a stunning location close to the lake shore fantastic views with lovely walking straight from the door. Also walked into Coniston where there are pubs and cafes which are dig friendly. The cottage is well equipped and cozy perfect for a relaxing break.

Cannot fault Tent Lodge Cottage at all, cottage was immaculate and everything provided. This is beautiful cottage in an idyllic location on the Lake at Coniston. Richard and Wendy have made the cottage very welcoming at Christmas/New Year with a decorated tree and wine, prosecco and nibbles on arrival. This was our second New Year at Tent Lodge cottage and would welcome the opportunity to return.
