This cottage is located in the pretty hamlet of Dubwath, which is situated on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake. Bassenthwaite Lake Station is on your doorstep, offering cream teas onboard the Orient Express train. Both Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, and the market town of Keswick are within 8 miles, and both have a great selection of independent shops and restaurants. The Lakes Distillery is less than a mile away and offers tours and tastings sessions. It also has a lovely bistro to enjoy a spot of lunch. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with some fabulous walks from the door, including Sale Fell and Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve. For any mountain bike enthusiast, there are some brilliant tracks in Whinlatter Forest, only 8 miles away.

Walk through the private patio and enter the property to find yourself in the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area. Enjoy a movie or catch up on your favourite series on the Smart TV or relax and make plans for the days ahead while snuggled up on one of the comfy sofas. Along the hallway, you will find a useful utility room with a ground-floor WC. Head up the staircase to the first floor where you will find two stylish bedrooms, a super-king-size zip-and-link room (can be arranged as a twin on request), and a double room. Both feature TV/DVDs and en-suite shower rooms.

The pretty, enclosed patio is a real suntrap in the afternoon and has seating, allowing you to enjoy al fresco dining, a morning coffee, or a catch-up with a good book.

  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

Lovely cottage, warm, comfortable and in a great spot. Our host Tim was friendly and welcoming with great ideas for places to eat. We had a wonderful week and can't wait to book there again

For our weekend away for a December wedding, the cottage was warm, clean and welcoming, with added Xmas sparkle due the Xmas tree and lights inside and out. Very comfortable and a lovely home from home, with everything you might need. Loved it
