Get your boots on and walk 1.5 miles to explore the fells in Dodd Wood. Keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels and osprey which you may be able to see from the viewing platform. Stroll 2 miles down to the lake for a waterside wander along the west shore. At the northern end of the lake is The Lakes Distillery where adults can enjoy a fun day out and stock up your favourite tipple to accompany dinner. Mirehouse and Gardens is a lovely place to visit with little ones in tow as there are woodland playgrounds and plenty of lovely walks to follow. Treat yourself to a night off from the kitchen and visit the local pub in Bassenthwaite village (1.5 miles).

Descend stairs to reach this home and head into the ground-floor living space. Open-plan, the kitchen, lounge and diner fit together to create a welcoming hub of the home. Get comfortable and admire the views through the French doors or sit in front of the TV/DVD for a relaxing night in. Near the doors, the dining table seats all guests so you can eat together and raise a toast to the chef. Just beyond is the kitchen, with a cooker with ceramic hob and electric oven, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and a dishwasher, find all you need to cook up a storm and clear up afterwards. Though small, the kitchen is stylish and has good worktop space. Completing the ground floor is the family shower room with WC where you can freshen up after exploring. Head upstairs to rest your head in one of three bedrooms. The double, twin and single are all decorated in neutral tones with splashes of colour to help you relax and drift off in style. Should you fancy a soak, the family bathroom has a bath with shower over the bath and a WC. Shared with the other properties in the barn, there is a room with clothes airer, iron and ironing board. Step out of the French doors and spend time basking in the sun with a drink in hand on your private patio. Beyond this, there is a garden shared with other properties in the barn. The garden boasts fantastic views and is a great place for children to play. There is off-road parking for two cars.

We were very happy with our stay. The site was quiet and secluded with wonderful views. The property was well equipped and confortably furnished. We were a grown up family of five and we did not feel overcrowded the two showers and toilets helped. Other reviewers spoke about noise from the upstairs apartment we did hear them from time to time it ceRead morertainly would not stops going again or recommending it to others. It was very convenient for getting into Keswick and the rest of the lakes. Hide

Lovely location. Clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for a family of five adults. Be aware that there is an apartment above and you may hear some noise.
