Holiday cottages & self-catering accommodation in Glenridding
At the southern end of the Lake District’s majestic Ullswater sits the small village of Glenridding, where there is plenty of self-catering accommodation to choose from. Located in the north-east of the National Park at the foot of the famous Kirkstone Pass and with lots of cottages to rent, Glenridding is popular with tourists. Staying in Glenridding is a particularly good option for keen walkers of all abilities, as there are plenty of routes on offer. One of the most popular is the Helvellyn walk along Striding Edge, but be sure to check the weather before you head out. If you fancy a more leisurely approach to soaking up the stunning scenery, jump on one of the Ullswater Steamers for a cruise, and you could even combine it with a stroll around the lake’s edge. At the northern end of Ullswater, you will find the historic market town Penrith too.
Staying in one of our Glenridding cottages will ensure you’re ideally located to discover the delights of this beautiful corner of the Lake District. If you love the great outdoors, you can enjoy hiking, climbing, canoeing, fishing and a range of other sports, all within a few miles of your cottage. The lake itself plays host to a number of water sports and the mountain of Helvellyn lies west of Ullswater. There are also plenty of charming Cumbrian villages nearby, such as Patterdale, Pooley Bridge and Martindale, all of which have tea rooms, cafes and pubs to quench your thirst and feed your hunger.
