Derwentwater is less than 4 miles north of the village; there are eight jetties where you can hop on and off the boat to explore. Visit Theatre by the Lake to take in a show and, from Crow Park opposite, you can get 360° panoramic views of the mountains along with stunning views down the lake towards the exceptionally beautiful Borrowdale Valley. Also at the northern end of Derwentwater, the bustling town of Keswick (7 miles) is home to Puzzling Place and the Derwent Pencil Museum.
